Hysteria?
/WHP Sports Director Joel Smith scotch taped a piece of paper to his mouth, took a picture and tweeted this out:
In other words, Smith doesn’t think that this is a big deal and that taping a piece of paper to your mouth is funny and mocks the people wearing masks.
Smith works for a Sinclair station and last week we showed you how an employee at another Sinclair station thought this whole coronavirus thing was a hoax.
Maybe Sinclair to explain to their employees that posting that the virus is fake, or mocking the “hysteria” is not helping the situation.
I ask Joel Smith who covered the H1N1 back in 2009, is this anything like that?
I went to Target yesterday and watched people run to the back of the store to buy toilet paper the minute the store opened.
Did that happen in 2009?
Were the kid’s schools closed for weeks in 2009?
Did every major sports league suspend its season back in 2009?
This is nothing like that and the media sounded the alarm early on the coronavirus as we had other countries give us a clear sign of what was coming.
Sadly, our President and people like you downplayed it until we got to where we are today.
This country is headed into another recession, hundreds of thousands of people are going to die. Many people will lose their businesses. The economy is coming to a standstill and you are taping a piece of paper to your face.
This is a crisis and you think it’s a joke.
It is also nothing like you reported on in 2009.
Nothing….
