Coronavirus Hits Chicago Station
/Word is that an employee at Fox’s WFLD in Chicago has tested positive for the coronavirus.
WFLD General Manager Dennis Welch sent an email to staff saying, “We are continuing the execution of our plan which contemplated the scenario of a positive COVID-19 test for a Fox Stations Sales employee. We are conducting a deep clean and sanitization of all affected areas.”
Word is the employee worked outside of the news department.
It is a good bet that at some point in time the coronavirus is going to come inside your station.
If you still required to come into the station, it is best to stay at your desk and not move around the station. If you can get your hands on sanitizer wipes, wipe down everything several times a day.
If you’re in a job that you must move to a different location, i.e. a Producer moving into the control room, again as you enter wipe everything down. Do it again as you leave.
This will be your life for weeks and likely months to come.
Make it a habit.
