Do as I Say, Not as I Do

Right now people are relying on TV news to give them the information, guidelines, and advice on the global pandemic.

People are advised strongly not to travel unnecessarily and to stay out of bars and restaurants.

WPHL (Philadelphia) Anchor Nick Foley seems to think that the coronavirus is worth joking around about and looking at his Instagram, he clearly is not heading the recomedations of health officials.

He hops on a plane to Florida:

Goes to a bar:

And jokes about the coronavirus:

Thousands of people have died and many in the United States are doing their best to try and stem this virus from killing more people.

If Nick Foley wants to thumb his nose at this pandemic, he has every right to do so and continue doing the things that health officials are advising against.

But, as a News Anchor, maybe he should keep his behavior off social media. Viewers might think, If he’s doing it, why can’t we?
