At first, it was thought that the NBA was still going to play games but do it without the fans.

That meant viewers would still be able to watch the games, just not in person. The same with the PGA Tour.

But now the major sports leagues are either suspending or canceling their season and that means no sports on TV.

It will be interesting to see how ESPN fills time on their channels.

But, here is where it hist home for many people.

Almost all games that you watch on TV are brought to you by a large number of Freelancers.

When I was producing Pittsburgh Pirate baseball games for WPXI, I would fly to the city that the pirates were playing in. A director and a few others from Pittsburgh would also fly to the city.

But many others that worked in the production truck, or ran the cameras were Freelancers that we hired in the city the game was played.

It takes a lot of people to put on a game and most of the crew is made up of Freelancers.

Now, all of those people are out of works as major sports have a shutdown.

This is a lot of people that are now not getting a paycheck and can’t provide for their families.

The Pittsburgh Pirates and the rest of the teams and their players will be able to handle this suspension in play. Same for the other sports and their players.

But, the little guy is now out of work and will not be spending money on eating out, going to the movies or taking a trip.

This is going to be a major impact on this pandemic. These are the stories that need to be told and these are the people that need help.

Yesterday, the Fed dumped well over a trillion dollars into the stock market to try and stop it from cratering. It didn’t work and it was basically like lighting over a trillion dollars on fire and watching it burn.

That is money that could have been given to people like this that are impacted by the pandemic.

Politicians should look at giving people money which in turn will keep the economy running.

The Freelancers are just the first of many people that will feel the pinch of this pandemic.

These are the stories you guys need to tell.

We have to get Washington back working for the people and not putting themselves and their parties first.

You guys can do this!
