When Annie Yu left The Firm’s WTTG in Washington DC to cross the street to WUSA, FTVLive said it was a great hire by the Tegna station.
Since Yu has joined WUSA as a morning Anchor, the ratings for the station’s morning show have been on a steady rise.
As for WTTG, the loss of Yu on their morning show has seen its ratings decline and now the station is looking to shake things up.
Sources tell FTVLive that management at WTTG is going to move Angie Goff from the 4PM newscast to the morning. The station is also going to greatly reduce the roles of current morning Anchors Holly Morris and Maureen Umeh.
Sources tell FTVLive that the change will happen at the end of the month.
WTTG insiders say that management has been reading the “riot act” to the morning team for months and now it has come to this.
Like we said at the time, letting Yu cross the street was a stupid move by WTTG.
Looks like they have finally figured this out as well.
