We Knew That Was Coming...

Yesterday, FTVLive told you that Meredith’s WGCL (Atlanta) had a team-building exercise in the newsroom in which employees were handed a blank map of the United States and the race was on to see who could fill it in first and correctly.

You might remember doing such a thing in 5th grade, but I guess it’s done in TV newsrooms as well.

A staffer posted the video to Facebook and it turned a bit embarrassing for main Anchor Shon Gables. It seems that Gables tried 4 times to figure out where the state of Georgia was on the map. She kept getting it wrong.

“I know it’s in this area,” Gables is seen in the video. At one point, she put the state of Georgia in Kentucky.

We did mention that Gables is the main Anchor at the station in Atlanta, which just so happens to be in the state of….. yep….. Georgia.

We also correctly predicted that when the Meredith bosses saw the story on FTVLive, you could bet that the staffer that posted the video would be asked to pull it down. And that is exactly what happened.

The video is now gone, but the Anchor that has no clue where the state she lives and works in is located is still on the air, giving viewers the news each night on WGCL.

How scary is that?
