Back in January, FTVLive told you about the seemingly on going problems at Hearst owned KOAT Albuquerque.

The station had a number of unfilled jobs and a number of people inside the station told FTVLive that the place was a “hot mess.”

Back on January 31st, FTVLive wrote, “….people are saying it has gotten so bad that some of the staff are contacting lawyers. One insider claims that because of the staff shortage, some people are having their vacation time denied. There is also talk amongst the staff of a potential walkout. Some ask, “does Hearst have any Idea how bad it is here?””

Last week, KOAT’s News Director Greg Shepperd told the staff that he was leaving the station next month to be with his family in Chicago.

One TV insider said to FTVLive about Shepperd leaving, “But it is suspicious given what’s been going on at the station and the fact he has been with the company for years.”

Shepperd joined KOAT in 2015 but has been in the Hearst for decades.
