No Cake for You!

Back in April of last year, FTVLive told you how WCAX in Burlington, Vermont gave Anchor Galen Ettlin a cake and made a big deal that he had made it through his first year at the station.

The station spent 2:30 celebrating Ettlin’s one year anniversary, but it appears there will be no cake for year two.

Just a couple of months shy of Ettlin’s two year anniversary, he has announced he is leaving the station.

Ettlin that he has accepted an out-of-state journalism job, though he said he can't say where it is until next week.

Roger Garrity, WCAX's news director, called Ettlin "tremendously bright" and said he will be "missed by a lot of people.”

Ettlin says he is not leaving the station without leaving his footprint, “I come from a very different place and have very different experiences," said Ettlin, an Oregon native. "I brought a lot of new ideas here. To have the support from viewers who have seen things a certain way a really long time ... that has meant the world to me.”
