Leaving The Firm in SFO

Last summer, KNXV’s Allison Rodriguez left the station and headed to The Firm’s KTVU in Oakland and now she is headed back to The Valley of the Sun.

The Scripps station in Phoenix announced that Rodriguez is rejoining the station in late March to be a co-anchor of “ABC15 Mornings on the CW61.” It’s an expansion of “ABC15 Mornings,” which signs off at 7 a.m. so the station can carry ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

The local show — not a new show, but an expansion of the existing one, according to ABC15 news director Mark Casey — will continue for two more hours on CW61 from 7 to 9 a.m. “That gives us the opportunity to extend our news coverage each weekday morning,” Casey said. “Allison will also do some weather and traffic reporting. She’ll have a co-anchor to be determined.”

No word on how she is able to leave the Fox O&O in Oakland in less than a year, but somehow she Is doing it.
