Changing Their Story

On Saturday, FTVLive told you how Nexstar’s WFLA (Tampa) was covering the Florida Highway Patrol escorting the body of one of their officers that was killed across the state.

WFLA was shooting the procession from their chopper and at one point the WFLA Photographer onboard the chopper tells the pilot that “We’re going to head back to Tampa….We can go back…It was a waste of my day.”

The audio was caught on the station’s live stream on social media and many viewers and law enforcement officers were pissed.

WFLA posted this about what happened:

But, now the station has pinned at the top of their Facebook page another apology and this time the excuse is not the same as the first one.

One viewer wants to know why the apology has changed?

The WFLA Photographer contacted FTVLive over the weekend and said that his words were taken out of context.

This is the problem with stations live streaming events raw. It is also bad to make two different apologies that contradict each other.

Just saying…
