Georgia Stations Ignore Scandal

It appears that most of the TV stations in Georgia don’t know a big story despite the fact that it is right in front of them.

The New York Times, AP, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has been reporting on new details about Republican Sen. David Perdue’s pandemic stock trading scandal.

While this is a big story that viewers should be informed about, only two TV stations in the state reported on the story.

If you think they are Atlanta stations, guess again.

Fox-affiliated WGXA in Macon and ABC-affiliated WJCL in Savannah are the stations that have covered the story.

So, why have the other stations ignored it?

Could it be because the Perdue campaign is spending big money to advertise and the stations don’t want to upset him?

Or, is it because stations are now packed with so many inexperienced staff, they can not grasp a stock scandal story?

The fact that stations in Atlanta have not touched this story is disturbing, to say the least.

This run-off election will determine the path of the country and voters should be fully informed, before heading to the ballot box.

Sadly, most TV stations in Georgia are not up to the task of doing that.
