For those that were hoping that Nexstar’s News Nation (like I was) was going to catch on with viewers, we have some bad news for you.

Despite a huge news month in September when News Nation launched on WGN America and including an interview with Donald Trump, the viewership continued to drop.

According to Nielsen, the News Nation ratings for the last week of September (9/28) were down 31% in total viewers compared to launch week and down 9% in the demos.

The worst week for the Nexstar cable newscast was the week of 9/21 where they averaged just 58 thousand total viewers and just a measly 13 thousand in the demo.

Ouch!
