Sacked in Connecticut

News 12 Connecticut has parted ways with Sports Anchor Fred Gerteiny after he called  South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott an “Uncle Tom” in a tweet.

Gerteiny deleted the offensive tweet, but it was not enough to save his job.

In a statement, News 12 Connecticut said it had fired Gerteiny “as a result of a racially insensitive comment.”

The website The Hill posted a story in which Scott, the GOP’s only black senator, said that President Trump “misspoke” when he told the Proud Boys, to “stand back and stand by” during Tuesday night’s debate.

“Thanks Uncle Tom,” the Gerteiny commented.
