One question that many TV news people have is if they left the business, what would they do?

Have you thought about going down on the farm?

Former WBFF News Director Mike Tomko name resurfaced yesterday after he left the Sinclair station.

No, Tomko has not landed another ND job. He is now on the “media engagement team” of the American Farm Bureau Federation.

Oh! According to the memo the Farm Bureau sent out, he is also an aspiring pit master on the side.

Here’s the memo:

Subject: [EXTERNAL] Media Advisory - Staff Introduction

The American Farm Bureau Federation is pleased to welcome two new members of our media engagement team, Mike Tomko and Cole Staudt. Brief bios and contact information can be found below.

Mike Tomko assumed the position of Director of Communications focused on media engagement on January 1, 2020. Mike spent almost 25 years in the broadcast journalism field, first as a reporter, then as News Director for several stations. Most recently, he served as News Director for WBFF TV in Baltimore. He began his career as a journalist and worked in several Midwest states. Mike is an aspiring pit master on the side, so as a bonus, he can also answer brisket-smoking questions. We are delighted to have Mike as a new member of the team.

Cole Staudt joined our team in November as our Media Relations Specialist. He has been a tremendous addition to the team and hit the ground running. Cole was born and raised on an Iowa farm and worked as a program director for the National Student Leadership Conference before serving as the communications director for two members of Congress. Cole is a fitness guru who enjoys running and he’s been doing plenty of it since joining our team, helping to manage media inquiries.

Please feel free to reach-out to Mike, Cole, me or any member of our communications team with questions and requests.

Best, Terri
Terri Moore VP of Communications
