BREAKING! Atlanta News Director Getting Bumped Up

WGCL News Director Steve Doerr is leaving the Meredith station.

He is being bumped up the food chain and will become the General Manager at Meredith owned WSHM In Springfield, Massachusetts.

This is the first time in recent memory where a News Director is leaving WGCL in Atlanta by being promoted and not fired.

Doerr’s wife lives in the Northeast and the two have been commuting back and forth for years. This brings the two closer together which as any married couple knows, might be a good thing or might be bad.

That now means that WGCL is looking for a new News Director and here is hoping that Steve Doerr has broken the News Director curse in the A-T-L.
