Yesterday, the Nexstar station held two staff meetings to announce exactly what FTVLive FIRST reported. Today you will see the other TV websites tell you the news we told you days ago.
The KTLA staff were told that Drafs is the new GM and that she starts on Feb. 10th.
As for Don Corsini? He has stuck around KTLA like a bad penny, but it finally appears there is an exit date. He will stay on through the transition as a consultant. His last day at the station will be Feb. 17th.
Drafs is a good hire and she will have her work cut out for her at KTLA. She has to reign in talent that use their social media to promote their side hustles more than they do to promote their news coverage.
The News Director is more interested in entertainment than actual news and the station has what Nexstar suits think is a very over-bloated staff.
Drafs told the staff yesterday in the meeting that she “isn't looking to change atmosphere but to enhance it.”
But, we’re willing to bet you will see some changes.
Nexstar made a good choice, but there is a lot of work to do.
