No. 5 Worst Person in TV News for 2019

We kick off the list by heading out to Salt Lake City and Sinclair’s KUTV.

Coming in at No. 5 on our worst list is KUTV News Director Mike Garber.

Garber brought in a number of nominations from his current and former staff who say that he tries to lead by fear.

“For him, it is all about intimidation and fear, he management style is the worst I have ever seen,” said one of the people that worked under him.

Another staffer added, “I quit the station and I never felt better knowing I would not have to work for that guy again.”

One thing that tells you just about everything you need to know. Utah banned non-compete clauses in contracts and while a number of Salt Lake City TV people have crossed the street, almost none have crossed over to KUTV.

“Mike Garber is the reason,” said one of the news staffers.

And that lands him on the list as the 5th worst for 2019.
