Sources tell FTVLive that Gray’s WAFB in Baton Rouge parted ways with longtime Producer and Special Projects Manager, Heather Phung, over her acceptance speech at the Suncoast Emmy Awards banquet in Orlando, FL.

It was the second time Phung won an Emmy for Best Newscast.

Her speech included her gratitude toward her production staff which had fallen victim to another round of cuts by Gray Media.

Insiders say the bosses did not like that and the station and Phung parted ways after she worked there 10 years.

Phung has won a number of awards for her producing and I have a feeling that she will not be on the sidelines long.
