From SFO to Chicago
/KPIX (San Francisco) Meteorologist Paul Deanno is blowing into the Windy City.
his bio is still up on the CBS O&O’s website in San Francisco, (at least until the CBS brass reads FTVLive this morning) WMAQ (Chicago) Station Manager Frank Whittaker was sending an email to the staff that says that Deanno is joining the NBC O&O.
Of course, FTVLive obtained a copy of the memo:

Subject: Meteorologist Paul Deanno
I am pleased to tell you that Paul Deanno will be joining the NBC 5 Storm Team as a weekday meteorologist.
Paul comes to us from KPIX-TV, the CBS station in San Francisco, where he’s been the chief meteorologist for the past seven years. In that role, he’s anchored weather for the 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, as well as the Bay Area CW station KBCW. Prior to that, Paul was a meteorologist for KOMO-TV in Seattle. And before that, Paul worked nearly four years as the chief meteorologist at WTVJ-TV, our NBC-owned station in Miami. During Paul’s time in our company he filled in on the Today Show and appeared on Nightly News, MSNBC and the Weather Channel.
Paul holds a degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University, and has his certificate in meteorology from Mississippi State University. He has earned the AMS and NWA seals of approval. And he’s written the book on weather, specifically “WOW! Weather!,” a book for children about the world of weather around us.
Paul will be assigned to the weekday 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. newscasts. Chief meteorologist Brant Miller will continue to do the 5p, 6p and 10p newscasts. During the week, Alicia Roman and Kalee Dionne will help Andy Avalos with our morning weather as well as continuing to handle weekend weather and creating additional weather content for our digital platforms.
Paul, his wife Suzanne, and three boys will be relocating to the Chicago area in early October. Paul will start here on October 21st, and will begin his on-air duties shortly thereafter.
Please welcome Paul Deanno back to our NBC-Owned stations, and to our NBC 5 Storm Team!
