The Fox O&O’s and the Fox cable channels all went dark on the Dish Network as the two sides are now in a full blown pissing match.

This is just the latest example of a company demanding more money for a company that brings TV to viewers.

Think about all the stories we have run about how these media companies are asking for more and more money from cable and satellite providers to carry their signal.

As they all hold out for more money, the viewers are seeing their bills go higher and higher and more and more of them are saying that’s enough and are cutting the cord.

At this point in time, FTVLive has no access to my local stations, CNN, MSNC or Fox News. We cut the cord and rely on watching Amazon Prime or YouTube in the rare times we sit down in front of the TV.

It used to be you could find us every Sunday, in front of the TV watching football. This year, we haven’t seen a single game and have not missed it a bit.

As for news, we rely solely on the internet.

This is all coming from a person that spent decades working in TV news.

If we have grown tired of high coast TV, imagine what it’s like for the average viewer?

Media companies look at retransmission like the goose that laid the golden egg. The problem is, they want to goose to keep laying more and more eggs and they are in turn killing the goose.

The greed of these companies will in the end, be their downfall.

Stay tuned….
