FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Tegna’s WKYC was changing up their newscasts. First of all, they are not called newscast. The morning show is called “Go!”, the late news is called “What’s Next…”
A viewer watched the late newscast…..errrrrrr…..What’s Next on WKYC and passed along his thoughts. I don’t think he was impressed:
“I still have the throbbing headache Channel 3’s 11pm “What’s Next” show gave me last night. They throw a colorful, annoying interstitial between every story and in and out of live shots. The studio lighting was inconsistent. The backgrounds were way too busy. The vertical left-third weather forecast strip was worthless and detracted from the video in vo’s and packages. The new logo is stupid and plain. And the worst of it was the constant music under everything. My brain almost exploded during the first segment. This was absolutely the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Congratulations, Tegna, you’ve taken a decent product that probably received solid ratings, and rendered it not only “unwatchable” but literally sickening.”
