BREAKING! FCC Signs Off on Nexstar/Tribune Deal

Today the FCC signed off on the Nexstar/Tribune deal which means that very shortly Nexstar will become the biggest local broadcast group in the country.

The DOJ had signed off on the deal weeks ago and the FCC was the final hurdle for the deal to be approved.

Nexstar will takeover the Tribune stations soon and will be selling some overlapping stations to Tegna and Scripps. Also as FTVLive FIRST told you, expect Fox to be in the mix for some other stations as well.

Nexstar just announced that they had done a longterm affiliation deal with Fox.

Look for Fox to acquire some stations from Nexstar.
