Subject: Anchor Announcement

We are delighted to announce that Rick Folbaum is joining the CBS46 team as primary evening co-anchor effective next Monday, September 16th. Rick is already based in Atlanta - he’s currently anchoring for CNN International; prior to that, Rick spent five years as the primary evening co-anchor for WFOR, the CBS O&O in Miami. Prior to his arrival in Miami Rick was a long time anchor and correspondent for Fox News. Over the course of 17 years at Fox Rick anchored or covered some enormous events including the “Miracle on the Hudson” landing of a US Airways plane on the Hudson river and the terrorist attacks of 9-11, eighteen years ago tomorrow. Rick also has a deep background in politics, anchoring much of Fox’s political and election coverage over the years. While with Fox, Rick also spent three years anchoring at WNYW in New York City.

A native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Rick is a passionate Eagles fan (a HUGE plus in my book) with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I Newhouse School of Public Communications. Rick and his wife, writer Kelcey Kinter, have five children and as mentioned, live in the Atlanta metro so knows the market and our product.

Rick will anchor our evening programs alongside Shon Gables and will also anchor our major special live events including the Notre Dame/UGA pregame show next weekend and our coverage of Pride next month. His first day is next Monday but he’ll be in the station tomorrow to meet the group and work with the creative services department. He’ll be here for the morning meeting and will be in the building much of the day. Please say hello to Rick and welcome him into our team.
