FTVLive at NABJ
/Today’s FTVLive is coming to you from the World Headquarters, a place I hope to remain for awhile. After 3 weeks of traveling, I’m exhausted.
Since Wednesday at 1AM, I have only had a total of 5 hours sleep and I need some serious REM time in the sack.
I’m back from NABJ in Miami, where I spent a couple of hours on the floor the convention. While I was walking the floor, a security guard grabbed my shoulder and told me that I had to leave because I did not have a credential.
Credential?
Do they ask Jack Nicklaus for a credential at the Masters? Do they ask Beyoncé for a credential at the Grammys? Is Micheal Jordan asked for his credential at United Center?
OK, maybe my situation was more like Jim Acosta at the White House and less like Beyoncé.
Anyway, I will include more on that story in my Vlog next week. Subscribe to my YouTube to be one of the first to see it.
While security was walking me to the parking lot, a number of people were stopping me along the way and saying how much they enjoyed FTVLive. One of those was CBS News Technical Director Vance Lang:
Anyway, while security was escorting me out, the NABJ peeps quickly got me a pass and all was good. In the sea of people, I never got to hook up with Vance again, but hey man, thanks for the brief encounter while I was in “custody.”
The convention was packed, with around 4,000 people and I was able to a number of them. So many people came out to me and thanked me for doing FTVLive and said it was their, “must read” each and everyday.
A person from Scripps posted this to their social media, but almost everyone else came at me with positive vibes and nice words.
It is so nice to hear that. There were a lot of good vibes on the floor of NABJ and it made you feel good about the future of the industry.
I’ll get more into the convention soon, but right now, let’s do some news and this is one of those days where every story on FTVLive is a MUST READ….
