Yesterday, FTVLive told you that WKEF/WRGT Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson was arrested from drunk driving.

The station now says that Simpson was not an employee at the time of his arrest.

This was not Simpson’s first time being arrested for drinking and driving. Back in November 2014, then working WHIO, Simpson was busted by police for DUI when cops say his car went through an intersection, crashed through a fence and struck a tree.

He left the station in early 2015.

In April 2016, Simpson landed another job at the Sinclair duop WKEF/WRGT.

He had not been on the air for a few weeks and the station was not saying why?

Early yesterday morning, he was busted for being behind the wheel and being drunk. According to the police report, Simpson was found in his car passed out in a parking lot.

It was only after his arrest that the station would say that Simpson no longer worked there.

If he is found guilty, it is almost certain that Simpson will be facing jail time due to this being his second arrest for driving under the influence. In his plea agreement from the first DUI, Simpson was told if he got another DUI in the next 5 years, he could be sentenced to jail for 180 days. That agreement ran through November of this year.

Word is that Simpson bonded out of jail on this latest arrest. He the $7,500 bond and is required to wear a SCRAM bracelet which monitors the body for alcohol.

Here is the arrest report from this latest incident obtained by FTVLive:
