New News Boss Named in Phoenix

Meredith’s KPHO/KTVK has hired a former Sinclair executive as their new News Director.

The station hired Jennifer Dahl as the new news boss in Phoenix.

Dahl was a rising star at Sinclair, but was sacked from the company back in October of 2016.

Dahl was involved in Sinclair’s pay for play stories from the Huntsman Cancer Institute out of Salt Lake City.

The Sinclair stations were not letting viewers know that the "news" they were watching was actually a paid for commercial for the Institute.

When the FCC started looking into this practice, Sinclair basically threw Dahl under the bus and let her go. This was far from being all her fault, but she was used as a scapegoat by Sinclair.

Now, she resurfaces in Phoenix as the new boss.

She got a raw deal at Sinclair and it is good to see her making a comeback.
