Camera Operator Latest Victim of 9-11

Michael Gittelman worked for 30 years as a field ENG at CNN, then had stints as a studio camera operator at Al Jazeera America and i24News.

He just died from cancer. His doctors said it was caused by his exposure to dangerous toxins from when Mike worked for months at ground zero, manning a live camera following 9-11.

To say Mike was beloved would be an understatement.

He was a pro with total integrity and decency. And he had a remarkable sense of humor, even at the end.
