The Code Red Weatherman Lands a New Job

Joe Crain was fired from his job as the longtime meteorologist at WICS in Springfield, IL.

He got sacked after calling out corporate parent Sinclair for making the wether people label bad weather days as “Code Red.”

Crain went on the air, called out Sinclair and was fired.

Sinclair did change the way they label wether days and no longer use the term “Code Red.”

Despite Grain being right and forcing the company to change the stupid jargon, he still lost his job.

Now, he has found a new gig, but it is not in TV news.

Crain has been hired as director of public programs at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

“I look forward to help strengthen the ALPLM as the Capital City’s “crown jewel” in telling the story of Illinois’ most famous son,” Crain, 53, wrote in a tweet Thursday afternoon.

In the role, Crain will oversee the library and museum’s public events, which will involve developing staff ideas for public programming, handling logistics and helping to market events throughout central Illinois.

“Joe has tremendous relationships with people throughout the region,” said ALPLM executive director Alan Lowe. “He will be able to help us develop programming that clicks with local audiences and then spread the word with his trademark enthusiasm.”

It’s good to see he has a new job, but we wish he was still in TV news.

Say it ain’t so Joe?
