The Other Shoe is About to Drop for this Sinclair Station
/Last month, FTVLive told you that longtime WKRC (Cincy) Anchor Rob Braun said that he is leaving the station.
But, Braun said that he was not retiring it was that he felt like he needed to get out of the Sinclair station.
“I don't feel I fit well with the Sinclair News model,” he wrote in a message.
Well now the other shoe has dropped.
Word is that longtime WKRC Anchor Cammy Dierking is also looking to leave the station.
We is that Dierking has told her bosses she's leaving the station at the end of her contract in December.
Dierking, who was named Rob Braun's late news co-anchor in 2010, informed the station of her decision in April, two months before Braun announced in late June that he was leaving at the end of last month.
This is a huge blow to the Sinclair station.
WKRC which had been No. 1 in evening newscasts for most of the Braun-Dierking era, will need two new main co-anchors by the end of the year.
When contacted, Dierking would not confirm she had made any decisions about her contract.
"I'm not ready to talk about anything just yet. But thanks for the opportunity," she said in an email.
FTVLive knows of other Anchors at Sinclair stations across the country that are also exploring other opportunities and looking to leave the company.
“They own so many stations, but I’m bound and determined to leave Sinclair and work for a media company that is not so biased,” said one Sinclair Anchor to FTVLive.
