Big Announcement?

WJXT (Jacksonville) General Manager Bob Ellis teased with a tweet about a “big announcement” that will be happening later today.

What could it be? Could longtime anchors Mary Baer or Tom Wills be retiring? Is the independent station stealing the ABC affiliation from Tegna?

Those were some of the rumors, but sadly it appears that the “big announcement” will not be so big after all.

The local sports radio station in town sent out this tweet yesterday and they they quickly deleted it.

If putting a few high school football games on the air is the “big announcement” someone needs to rethink what “big” is.

Supposedly there is a news conference at Noon, if I’m not busy with work, I might stop by with vlog camera in hand.
