9 days ago, FTVLive told you that a staff meeting was called at WDRB (Louisville) and longtime General Manager Bill Lamb announced that he is leaving the station for a bigger market but he did not say where.

Now we know.

Lamb is head to The Firm and will be the new GM at struggling Fox O&O KTTV/KCOP in Los Angles.

“I want to climb another mountain; I want to take another big challenge and see what I can do,” he said.

Allan Block, chairman of WDRB parent company Block Communications says it will take him three or four months to find a general manager to replace Lamb.

In the meantime, Ricky Joseph, the general manager of WAND, the Block-owned station in Decatur, Illinois, has been named acting general manager of WDRB.

As for Lamb’s new gig in LA, he will have his work cut out for him as the station has been in a downward spiral for some time now.
