Letting the Inmates Run the Asylum

A week ago, FTVLive told you that 5 Anchors had sued NY1 in New York claiming age and gender discrimination.

It seems that this is just part of the problem at the cable news station.

The NY Post says that popular News Anchor Pat Kiernan, Traffic Anchor Jamie Stelter and Business Anchor Annika Pergament all share the same agent and they maybe running the station from the inside.

The Post writes, it’s whispered that a cabal is in control — who’s hired, fired, suddenly mired. Gossip gossips that they reject anyone who might equal — or, if possible albeit not probable — outshine their favorites. I’m hearing that maybe they even direct shots, segments, studios and in some cases, personnel. Executive producers have been on a rotating wheel.

Sources tell FTVLive that Kiernan asked for and was given the opportunity to hire his own Executive Producer for the show’s overhaul last year.

Word is that he ended up hiring a friend of his who didn’t make it but 6 months on the job.
