B-More Anchor: "I Wanted to do an on-air Apology"

Yesterday morning, FTVLive FIRST told you that WJZ (Baltimore) had parted ways with Anchor Mary Bubala after she asked a question that many found to be racist.

While doing a segment about Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh, who is black and resigned from office, Bubala asked a guest, “The question I have for you, we’ve had three female African-American mayors in a row—they were all passionate public servants, two resigned, though. Is it a signal that a different kind of leadership is needed to move Baltimore City forward?”

Bubala says that she knew that the question came out wrong and she wanted to do an on-air apology, but the CBS O&O would not let her.

She posted this to her social media about the incident and about being fired from the job she loved in the city that she loves:
