Dropping the Ball in Philly

It seems like severe weather has been moving across the country and that has kept the local TV weather folks very busy.

Yesterday, there was a tornado warning issued for Chester county, which is in the Philadelphia market and includes part of Philly in the county.

The tornado warning was in effect until 6:45PM.

So, some were quite surprised that NBC O&O WCAU signed off from their newscast at 6:30PM and went to NBC Nightly News.

ABC’s WPVI, CBS’s KYW and Fox’s WTXF all stayed with the severe weather coverage until the warning was over.

So, why did WCAU dump out when some viewers could be in danger?

We don’t know, but the station’s tagline is “Count on It.”

But, I guess when it comes to severe weather, you might want to count on someone else.

Just saying…
