Back on Valentine’s Day, FTVLive told you that WRAL had fired their longtime Meteorologist Greg Fishel over “a personnel matter.”

The station has finally named his replacement.

The station had 4 women and one guy to choose as a replacement.

Guess which one they went with?

Go ahead…guess?

Yep, they went with the guy. Just like you knew they would.

WRAL announced that Mike Maze is taking over Fishel’s job and title at the Raleigh station.

Maze will lead weekday evening weather coverage at 5 and 6 p.m. on WRAL, 10 p.m. on FOX 50 and 11 p.m. on WRAL.

Kat Campbell will join Maze at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on WRAL Wednesday through Friday, and will continue on weekend evenings for now. Later this fall, Campbell will be on weekdays at 4 and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Elizabeth Gardner will stay on morning duty, leading WRAL weather coverage from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. and the FOX 50 weather from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Gardner will also do weather at noon each weekday.
