FTVLive Patrons were the FIRST to learn that WTSP General Manager Mike Rodriguez was leaving the Tegna station after just a little more than two years.

Rodriguez came to the struggling station in March of 2017, after being out of the business for almost 5 years. He replaced Elliott Wiser, who also did not make it to the 3 year mark at the station.

Rodriguez joined WTSP after spending almost 5 tears out of the business. When he was hired, he came in with great promise to help get the Tegna station back on stable ground.

"He understands this industry, has Florida roots and will make an immediate impact at WTSP and in the Tampa community,” said Tegna Vice President Lynn Beall said at the time.

He did not have the “immediate impact” that Tegna was hoping for and now he’s leaving.
