As some nasty weather moved through the Houston area last week, Tegna’s KHOU had newly hired Meteorologist Erika Lopez breaking in to show the storms.

Lopez had some problems pronouncing some of the names of cities in the area.

Of course when you move to a new market, there is a lot to learn about the area. But, viewers expect that the person advising them of severe weather, knows what she is talking about.

Maybe, KHOU should have given Lopez a bit more time to learn the area, before thrusting her on the air with breaking weather news.

Then again…. This is Tegna.
