WGRZ (Buffalo) weekend anchor Ron Plants has been missing from the air at the Tegna station.

Plants has been at the station for 20 years, but has been seen on the newscasts in quite some time.

WGRZ General Manager Jim Toellner declined comment and will not say why he’s not on air.

Some believe it to be a medical related issue, but with the GM not talking no one knows for sure?

If the Mayor of Buffalo was not coming to work for several weeks, would WGRZ be fine if the City Manager said no comment and left it at that?

It’s amazing how a business that wants to hold the powerful accountable, never does the same when it involves them.

It appears that in TV news, transparency is a one way street.
