Ladies in the Locker Room in KC

Meredith owned KCTV (Kansas City) launched a new daily sports show on their secondary channel KSMO.

The Locker Room show is hosted by Dani Welniak (pictured) and produced by Nikki Rushing. Yep, the station has two women in charge of their new sports show. Good for them!

While many local stations are cutting back on sports coverage, KCTV is beefing up theirs.

The show set is using lockers that the station was able to find on craig’s list from a trucking company that was trying to get rid of them.

The show, fronted by Welniak debuted last night, but she won’t be around the set later this week. KCTV is sending Welniak to Nashville on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to cover the NFL draft.

It’s good to see at least one station still cares about sports coverage.
