A News Director That Gets It

There is no doubt that FTVLive is a fan of WGN News in Chicago (let’s hope Nexstar doesn’t screw it up when they take over).

We are also a fan of WGN’s News Director Jennifer Lyons.

And here is just one reason why?

With the bitter cold gripping Chicago, Lyons sent out an internal memo to the staff that said in part, “I ask that there be NO outdoor live shots Wednesday and Thursday. Try to find a location where you can be inside and see outside behind you.”

She also added, “We are going to leave hand-warmers at the assignment desk for everyone to take out with you.”

This is a boss that gets it and put the safety of her employees first.

Thanks Jennifer for showing that there are still some bosses out there that are worth working for in this business.
