At Least 7,700 People in The Media Have Lost their Job in 2019

While Donald Trump brags about how low the unemployment numbers are, it has not been a good year for people that work in the media.

This Business Insider story says that so far 7,700 people in the media have lost their job and FTVLive knows that number is actually higher.

Many of the lost jobs are coming in the newspaper and print industry, but with TV stations being gobbled up in consolidation of the industry, it’s happening in our business as well.

2020 will be a huge revenue year for most TV stations, thanks to the 2020 elections.

But, don’t look for stations to add much staff as this industry is all about doing more with less.
