Just six hours before the next decade begins, CLTV in Chicago will air “Politics Tonight” and then Nexstar will pull the plug on the cable news channel and it will be gone for good.

FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Nexstar was killing off the channel.

27 years ago, CLTV launched as a local cable news channel for Chicago. It was before Fox News or MSNBC had even started and the idea was for the station to be the CNN of Chicago.

Although that never really happened, the station did have loyal viewers.

The station has been downsized over the years and now it will be downsized to nothing.

Sad to see, but this is what happens when an out of town owner comes in and just looks at the balance sheet and not the community.
