Too Much...

It seems that many stations do it and I have never been a big fan.

The Christmas holiday rolls around and TV stations think that they MUST put Poinsettias on the news set.

Why?

Does throwing a bunch of plants on the set bring in higher ratings? And, if it does, shouldn’t you have plants on the set all year long?

More often than not, the Poinsettias are a trade out and you see a quick font at the end of the newscast that says something like “Poinsettias Provided by Pat’s Nursery.”

Problem is, there is no sunlight in the studio and also there is no one assigned to watering the plants and it doesn’t take long for the Poinsettias to start looking a bit wilted.

Also, if you going to put garland on the anchor desk, don’t put so much that it blocks the monitor.
