On their website, Mediaite writes that they celebrated our Most Influential in News Media list this year with a party at the Lambs Club in New York City on Tuesday night.

One cable news star had this take about the media getting together to celebrate themselves and the cable newsie makes some very good points:

“This is everything that wrong with cable news.

They've thrown journalism out the window, made America more partisan and less informed, and think nothing of all getting together at an elite NYC party... not to raise money for a charity or beneficial cause, but to celebrate themselves and anoint their self proclaimed "influence."

These cable and broadcast news leaders are disgusting and shameless. You think anybody at the party asked Jeff Zucker why he still has a job? Did Anybody ask Andy Lack about Brian Williams leading MSNBC news coverage? How about Andy's decisions regarding Megyn Kelly? No, no, and no...

Why ask any questions when you can celebrate your self righteousness? This is cable news in the U.S. And it's why so many Americans who still care about broadcast journalism are absolutely disgusted..”

Also, it is here that we should point out that 4 years ago, Mediaite named their “Top 14 Media Reporters in America” and FTVLive was on that list.

Since then, FTVLive.com has 10 times plus more traffic than we did then and we have never made the site’s list again, despite the massive growth of this website.

Maybe it was because we called out the site for swiping some of our stories with no attribution or credit.

FTVLive has never been doing this job for accolades or trying to make friends. We’re here to try and make Journalism a bit better and shine a light on those that do a great job and also a light on those that do not.

So, list or no list, we’ll be just fine.
