Former Tribune, now Scripps station WPIX sent out a press release yesterday saying that will be adding more news in the AM.

Starting January 6th, WPIX will add another hour of news at 9AM.

Betty Nguyen and Dan Mannarino who currently do the 6-9AM newscast will anchor the extra hour and will both get a big pay bump for doing more work.

OK, we’re kidding, more news, same money.

The station did announce that they are going to bring on Marysol Castro and Ben Aaron as feature Reporters for the show.

“The PIX11 morning team delivers the newscast of choice for viewers who want authentically local news, information and lifestyle stories. Ben and Marysol will make our New York’s Very Own ensemble even bigger and even better,” said WPIX News Director Vickie Burns.
