Sports Anchor Going Down Hill
/Longtime WBRC (Birmingham) Sports Anchor Rick Karle signed off from the station, but he is now about to resurface in a new role at a new station.
He is headed to WVTM as the morning News Anchor.
Karle, the most recognizable person in Alabama TV sports is literally moving "down the hill," as WBRC sits at the tip-top of Red Mountain, and WVTM is one building down.
Karle left WBRC in 2018 after his position as Sports Director, which he held since 1989, was eliminated.
Now, he puts on a news hat and will go up against his old station.
“Rick brings depth and experience from his 30 years serving viewers in the Central Alabama area,” said WVTM 13 President and General Manager Susana Schuler said. “We know he will be a great addition to the WVTM 13 News team.”
