Back in June, FTVLive told you that WKRG (Pensacola) had parted ways with popular Meteorologist Alan Sealls.

Now, Sealls has resurfaced across the street at WMPI, where he will be the station’s new Chief Meteorologist.

The station made a big November book announcement, but Sealls’ face was nowhere to be seen in that announcement.

It appears Sealls is still sitting out a non-compete that bars the station from putting him on air until January of next year.

But, this is sweeps and they needed to try and goose the ratings now.

This was their hyperbole story on their new hire:

“Over the past 5 months, I’ve heard from hundreds of people who’ve asked where I was going. The interest and support has been overwhelming! I’m very happy to give the answer and get back to serving the Gulf Coast on NBC15. I look forward to working with old friends and colleagues, and new ones too, to deliver the best weather coverage and forecasts around. On that, you can bet your barometer!” says The Gulf Coast’s Chief Meteorologist, Alan Sealls.

WPMI News Director, Bob Noonan says “Alan is a game-changer. No meteorologist in our market has more credibility and is more trusted than Alan Sealls. With 10 Emmys in his trophy case, he makes NBC 15 better just by walking in the door. He was voted ‘Best Weatherman Ever’ by Reddit. How do you top that? With the addition of Alan, NBC 15 will have the most experienced, evening-news team in the market! We’re beyond excited about this new chapter for NBC 15.”
