Like We Didn't See That One Coming

Earlier this month, FTVLive told you that WBFF lead evening co-anchor Jennifer Gilbert was leaving the flagship Sinclair station.

Gilbert said she is stepping away from television news to devote more time with her 12-year-old son and new husband. She has been at the station over 25 years.

At the time, FTVLive wrote, “News of Gilbert's departure has rumor mill revving up about whether Sinclair management may be mulling putting former WJZ Anchor Mary Bubala in the main position.”

Well, guess what?

Sinclair announced that they have filled Gilbert’s position and they did so with…… wait for it…….. Mary Bubala.

Bubala was fired for making a racist remark at crosstown station WJZ and then was hired by Sinclair at WBFF as a Reporter.

She now moves up to the lead Anchor role and there is not a single person that is surprised by this.
