Is this Helping the Planet, or Just Plain Cheap ?

The coffee pot is a staple in every TV newsroom.

The bottom line is coffee fuels TV news (although FTVLive is fueled by Monster, cuz we don’t drink coffee).

Denver’s KDVR/KWGN does provide coffee to the staff, but if you want a paper cup to drink it out of, you’re out of luck.

The station has now placed plastic reusable cups in the break room that are supposed to be washed and reused after each use.

Now, I’m not a germaphobe, but this is not something that I would be partaking in. First, who knows how well those cups are being washed and second, you have to wonder how long that sat in the back of an edit bay collecting who knows what?

I don’t know if the Nexstar station is just too cheap to keep buying paper cups, or they are trying to be eco-friendly?

But, I know that if it was me, I would be bringing my own cup to work and not using the community cups for my morning joe.

Also, do you really need “Station Property” posted on each cup?

Then again, this is the place where the staff poops and pisses on the toilet seats, so I guess so.
