Correction to an Earlier Story

In a story that we posted earlier today, we said that the City of Parma, Ohio had posted to social media saying that an old story from WOIO was making the rounds, telling people that Halloween was canceled.

This was the post from the City of Parma, Ohio:

WOIO says that the story was used by radio station WZAK.

“WZAK used copyrighted WOIO material without our permission,” said WOIO in an online story correcting northeast Ohio residents that thought they were at fault.

The station says that. “a Facebook user re-posted an old article, which has since been removed, about trick-or-treat times in Northeast Ohio on her Facebook page. The article was shared and re-shared several times.”

It was also shared with FTVLive along with the City of Parma’s tweet that called out both WOIO and WZAK.

We posted the story earlier saying with that information. which turned out to be incorrect. There was no malicious intent on our part and we reported the story and the post that was sent to us.

It was an old story that WOIO from years ago and was picked up by the radio station.

WOIO was not responsible for the mistake, nor should they have called out by the City of Parma.

We regret the error and wanted to set the record straight.
